Below, we share some tools which can help us understand about why people use the internet, and which areas of Sunderland are at higher risk of digital exclusion than others. A key part of our Digital Inclusion Strategy is ensuring that everybody working on digital inclusion across Sunderland will coordinate activities to prevent competition and encourage codesign and delivery, enabling measurement of impact and difference made. By sharing information and intelligence with each other across the city, we will ensure no one and nowhere is left behind.

Sunderland Data Observatory quickly provides local statistics for Sunderland, such as, population, health, housing, crime, employment, etc.

Go Online Sunderland, a digital inclusion initiative to help residents go online and to deliver a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of the City’s Digital Inclusion Plan.

The CDRC Mapmaker Internet User Classification tool maps out how people living in Sunderland interact with the internet.

The Digital Exclusion Risk Index visualises the risk, or likelihood of digital exclusion for every Lower Super Output Area in England. Bringing together broad indicators to create a score for each area.

This Digital Inclusion Toolkit provides digital inclusion advice. Whilst the advice is designed for councils, other organisations can still use the principles of the guides, case studies and insights to support digital inclusion efforts
