Digital Screens

Outdoor digital screens are a great way to keep residents and visitors informed and engaged whilst out and about in the city. They can also create focal points for communities across the city to come together around key cultural opportunities. The first two of our large outdoor digital screens are now available in Keel Square and Riverside Car Park with a set amount of time available for the Council and partners to use to share key messages and promote new services such as the Public Wi-Fi service. The screens link to our sensor networks so we can share for example, air quality information. We have a further three large screens to be installed with the potential for additional temporary screens to support key events.

Additionally, Keel Square in Sunderland has become a hub of innovation and community engagement with the introduction of the Sunderland Pavilion, featuring one of the UK’s largest immersive screens.

Further details on these solutions can be found on our Innovation Challenges page.
