Use Case 1: 5G 360 live Broadcasting

A custom 3-sided transparent LED display will be installed in the heart of Sunderland city centre on Keel Square, that wraps around the Sunderland Pavilion. This innovative setup will not only demonstrate the capabilities of this technology to large audiences but will also serve as a 5G broadcast solution for future city events and public engagement, leaving a lasting legacy for the project.

Key performance indicators (KPIs) and success measures may include:

  • Total minutes the screen displays imagery and data
  • Total minutes streamed to the screen using 5G
  • 5G data volume
  • 5G data latency (daily or per stream averages)
  • Number of people reached (measured via a Wi-Fi-based people counter or similar)
  • Audience sentiment (gathered through a poll on the Sunderland App)
  • (If possible) The level of audience interaction
  • Number of third-party centres across the region that create content
  • Number of third-party centres across the region that stream or rebroadcast content
