We are delighted to announce that Sunderland City Council’s Chief Executive, Patrick Melia, has been shortlisted in the Smarter Working Live Awards 2021.
A finalist for the ‘Inspirational Leadership & Behaviours Award’, Patrick joins five other public sector leaders, all recognised for demonstrating both the motivation and capability to adapt, inspire and evolve.
2021 has proven to be a year full of accolades and recognition for a sustained effort over months and years to continuously improve Sunderland Our Smart City for the benefit of those living, working in and visiting the city.
Driven by a desire to bring positive and innovative change to the City of Sunderland through innovation and smarter working, Patrick is leading Sunderland City Council through an era of significant change.
Introducing processes and change management systems that enable smarter working practices, increased communication, and strong partnerships, Patrick has provided certainty and control by putting his loyalty and passion for the betterment of colleagues and stakeholders at the forefront of all strategic plans.
His commitment to people is at the heart of these changes. Not only to deliver a dynamic smart city for residents and businesses but to create a dynamic and smart culture for Sunderland City Council.
Being shortlisted for a Smarter Working Live Award further cements Patrick’s ambitions for Sunderland to be an urban centre of the future, where positive change encourages innovative behaviours and opportunities for all.
